As countries implemented lockdowns and quarantines, economies have suffered, leading to an increase in poverty and unemployment. India, too, has felt the profound impact of this crisis, with a growing number of people facing economic insecurity, particularly daily wage laborers.
Among the hardest-hit segments of the population are the vulnerable and impoverished, whose daily sustenance relies on informal daily wages. As these workers lost their livelihoods due to the pandemic, they found themselves struggling to secure basic necessities, including food. In these trying times, Minhaj Interfaith and Welfare Foundation (MIWF) has stood firmly committed to alleviating the suffering of these impoverished families by providing them with essential sustenance.
MIWF has undertaken the crucial mission of identifying and reaching out to these struggling families through its dedicated teams of volunteers working on the ground. With the generous support of donors who share MIWF's mission of compassion and relief, the organization has successfully completed Phase-3 of its Helpfeed project.
Through this initiative, MIWF has distributed vital ration packets to 3,686 families in various locations across India. These regions include:
